About
Online Consultant From Winnipeg
Hello! My name is Jill Lampi, and welcome to the WebGrrl Enterprises website and blog.
With a personal computer history stretching back to 1982, my Internet expertise began with personal and professional experiences dating back to 1991, including the development of my first “hobby” website in 1993. Remnants of this very first site still remain in Google!
I’m Having Fun With My Work!
At this time I have many projects going but may be open to new projects.
Contact me for a free consultation to see if there’d be mutual benefit in working together – no obligation, it would be great to talk to you!
Feel free to visit my Portfolio page on the site.
Here’s some more information about my skills, but also consider checking out my Blog, where I’m writing about what new things I’m learning about and working with these days.
Specialty #1: I Can Troubleshoot It
During my 20 years online I have focused much of my computer time on trying new software, installing and maintaining personal websites and web-based software on various topics, and dealing with the sometimes fatal results of my explorations.
I’ve installed and re-installed and troubleshooted and removed and researched and FIXED so many web-based applications over my career that it feels like a fun game these days.
Specialty #2: I Love To Break Stuff
Well, not really. But I love to test new software both to ensure it does what it’s supposed to do, and that it doesn’t do what it’s NOT supposed to do.
While I am not a programmer, my ability to read code and hack at it a bit has given me an advantage in terms of giving high quality bug reports to developers, being able to narrow down the location of the code problem in complex systems so their own research time is reduced and the problem can be corrected more easily.
Most of my software testing experience has been in the System Testing area, not the Client Testing area. As a result, another of my Software Testing strengths is the ability to creatively develop use scenarios in order to facilitate both static and dynamic testing.
Specialty #3: Painless Domain Transfers
Through professional work, I’ve also had the opportunity to perfect the techniques required for seamless domain take-overs when a company is deciding to change web developers or hosting providers for email or web services.
Starting with the seamless transfer of both email and web services for a particular domain and including handling all of the loose ends hanging out regarding the hosting providers and registrars and cancellation of old services and re-securing of the domain – I can do it all.
If you’re a developer or graphic designer who wants to be sure a client site take over is handled right and handled completely, give me a shout.
