This morning’s social media coaching session was dedicated to Marg from Sleepy Dog Cabins in Northwestern Ontario.
Sleepy Dog Cabins is an Ontario vacation destination near the town of Vermillion Bay on the shores of Wabaskang Lake, and it’s been owned and operated by Tom Williams since the 1980′s. Along with the amazing spring and summer experiences fishing for walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass and muskie, Sleepy Dog Cabins offers small game hunting experiences in the fall, including Grouse and Duck hunts.
While Tom Williams is working at the Lodge, Marg runs her own small business from another location, making use of her miscellaneous artistically creative talents to enhance the beauty and delight in people’s surroundings.
And now that marketing for the fishing lodge is moving more and more towards the Internet, Marg is moving her creative attention this way, helping Tom by managing the website and social media marketing of the Fishing Lodge itself.
Since this was our first real social media coaching session, we focused our attention on setting things up for the future, and about high level goals to shoot for:
When projects are new and clients are still building their subscriber base, I like to help encourage people to leave comments and feedback on the posts that are going up. I know I find it more motivating to post more material when I get comments from people who have found what I did, and it’s a lot of fun to help create that experience for clients.
Here are a few places you can find Sleepy Dog Cabins right now in order to leave them some encouraging words:
On behalf of myself from WebGrrl Enterprises and Tom and Marg from Sleepy Dog Cabins, we look forward to reading your comments!
Wow, it’s mid afternoon and I’m still feeling very inspired by a great social media coaching session with Sharon from Pine Sunset Lodge this morning!
The Pine Sunset Lodge itself is a fishing and hunting lodge located on the shores of Dinorwic Lake near Dryden, Ontario, only hours away from my hometown of Atikokan, Ontario.
While I’m now living in Manitoba as an adult, I regularly visit Northwestern Ontario, and it feels really good to be contributing to the health and well-being of the tourism industry in my old stomping grounds.
Sharon and I have been working together over the telephone and using Skype for about a month now, building upon and developing the Pine Sunset Lodge blog and general social media presence.
In fact, I’ve got a few shameless plugs I hope you’ll check out:
- Pine Sunset Lodge has set up a new Email Newsletter that is free to subscribe to on their main website
- Sharon is sharing some of her outdoor expertise over on YouTube (learn how the professionals fillet fish!)
- Find out more about upcoming contests and watch for great fishing photos to be posted to the Facebook business page
Be sure to leave a comment where you can, Sharon would be delighted to get the feedback!
So what was it that got inspired by this social media coaching session with Sharon this morning?
A whole lot of things! Ideas, strategies, possibilities!
I look forward to the inspiration of the coming months, as Sharon and I work together to find ways to reward her best fishing and hunting clients while also reaching out to new prospects in a cost effective way, using the power of the Internet.
Working with people who feel JOY when they wake up to go to work every day is easily the BEST thing about providing social media coaching services!
